salty logic

About

salty logic is a place to share thoughts with kids and young people about understanding the world: how to ask good questions, spot a bad argument, weigh evidence and reach sound conclusions.

It is rooted in the Bible. Faith and clear thinking are not enemies. God gave us minds and asks us to use them.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Colossians 4:6 (ESV)

but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.

1 Peter 3:15 (ESV)

Salt keeps food from going bad and brings out its flavor. Good thinking does the same for ideas: it keeps out what's false and brings out what's true.
